Students will cover the following topics:

• Describe the role of the Authorized Person
• Describe when Lockout/Tagout must be used
• Identify common forms of potential energy
• Discuss the advantages of locks over tags
• Identify the six steps involved in a Lockout/Tagout procedure
• Discuss the procedure for removing a lock or tag when the person who applied it is not available

In addition to presentation of the course material, the following must be done to fulfill the regulatory requirements:

• Conduct hands-on training using the company?s Lockout/Tagout devices
• Present information on how the company develops Lockout/Tagout Procedures
